Christian, Artist, Wife, Mom, Creative
Since childhood I’ve loved to make and create. Drawing was my first love but then I ventured into crochet. During high school I found the love of writing. From short stories to poetry, I spent my time writing throughout my early 20’s. Being creative has always helped to keep me grounded.
In 2017 I found myself picking up a pencil once again. That was all it took to start my path back into the world of fine art! I learned many new mediums and found myself immersed within my creative journey.
See my post: What is History Bounding
When I began history bounding in 2020 I decided to begin crocheting lace for my blouses and petticoats. YouTube made it very easy to find new lace patterns and techniques.
While searching I kept seeing beautiful patterns for edging that I wanted to use, but discovered they were not crochet, but rather tatting.

Here’s a pic of me in my Edwardian walking skirt, Edwardian sport blouse and all that goes with it. All was hand sewn by me.
Many years ago I had tried to learn to tat from a friend, but could never flip the knot. Seeing all these patterns made me decide to give it one more try. As I was struggling to learn I came across The Online Tatting Class. That’s all it took! I registered for classes and subscribed to the YouTube channel. Not only did I finally learn to flip the knot, but I began to learn techniques and designing! I had never heard of neeedle tatting but decided I needed to learn that as well. The Online Tatting class has something for everyone! See my resources page for more information!
On a personal level I am a history bounding neurodivergent wildlife artist who loves all things creative.
I was diagnosed in 2012 with adult onset epilepsy and in 2020 diagnosed with (EDS) Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder with multiple system co-morbidities. That diagnosis led to the discovery that I am not just ADHD, but also autistic! (That explains a LOT lol ) It would seem that ADHD and Autism tend to go hand in hand with EDS.
My main passion is wildlife art and conservation. I tend to find beauty everywhere I look and try to capture what I see within my art. If you’d like to visit my fine art site click the button below.
I hope you’ll enjoy your stay here and come back often! — Hugs, Cathleen
